About Tricia Burke, LCSW

Background and Education

I earned my master's degree in social work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. From there, I began my private practice in Chicago, Illinois. I currently practice in Hawaii and Washington State. With over a decade of experience in both corporate and clinical environments, my real-life experience, combined with formal training, gives me a seasoned insight into my clients' struggles.

Therapeutic Environment

People often say I’m approachable and non-judgmental.

I focus on creating a safe, nurturing environment for my clients with a personalized method. My goal-oriented approach to tackling challenges encourages collaboration as a vital part of the process that leads to self-actualization.

I always seek to inspire my clients to step into their own unique power and creativity and to support their motivation to change in a positive, lasting way. I recognize the yearn for those ‘aha moments’ when something suddenly becomes clear—a relationship that is ready to be embraced (or one that is ready to end), a new direction to pursue, or an old pattern to let go of.

Values and Beliefs

I view therapy as a way of guiding my clients towards those moments of clarity and authenticity while also, just as importantly providing the groundwork for the ongoing, day-to-day, process of developing personal satisfaction and growth.

“To me, Hawaii is a place of soul-level healing. I draw on this energy in my practice and feel honored to be a part of it.”

A Note From Tricia

We all yearn for those moments when something suddenly becomes crystal clear. My role is to help support you in that journey, whether you are facing anxiety, depression, or life changes.

I draw from several methods, including psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive approaches, to find the tools that fit your needs. I also believe the timeline for each client varies. Depending on the situation, we can see powerful effects from short-term as well as a long-term therapy.

I provide a safe, open, and non-judgmental environment for sharing your fears and frustrations. And we will do more than talk: we will actively work together to identify any problems that are holding you back and to develop concrete solutions to them.

Feeling overwhelmed?

“I have seen my clients break through the barriers to happiness and begin living the life they want. I am grateful to be a part of this process, for me personally, it is ongoing.”
