“Where you look affects how you feel.”

What Is Brainspotting?
New to the world of therapy is Brainspotting, or BSP. This exciting new tool curated by David Grand, Ph.D provides therapists with a resource to help support and strengthen your clinical healing experience. This new method of treatment is a powerhouse modality.
So, how does it work? BSP identifies, helps process, and aids in releasing key sources of mental or physical pain that live inside of our brain. Essentially, it’s a type of treatment that accesses deeper regions in the brain that traditional talk therapy can’t access—until now.
Brainspotting is both intuitive and accessible. Many professionals say they’ve seen nothing offer as much healing and relief as efficiently and effectively as Brainspotting when it’s offered by a trusted therapist. Why? Because it’s both brain and body-based, marrying the mind-body connection with therapy. BSP will help release emotions and physical stress related to a multitude of symptoms.
How can BSP help you?
Are you spending a lot of time, maybe even years, in therapy but still feeling stuck?
Say hello to your new little friend, Brainspotting. Now, you can find relief in a fraction of the time you’ve spent in your therapist’s office.
BSP can help you find relief faster by allowing deeper access to the brain and body’s autonomic and limbic systems. This creates an environment that makes healing happen more quickly and more efficiently.
While some participants reduced their symptoms in only three sessions, lengths vary. Those who have a good rapport with their therapist and utilize BSP will find release from their negative emotions much more rapidly than those who rely on traditional talk therapy alone.
Brainspotting Steps and What to Expect
Brainspotting is a powerful tool that works alongside therapy. Before starting on your journey into the deepest parts of your brain, here’s what to expect from BSP services by me, Tricia Burke.
First, I’ll assess how Brainspotting will help you overcome what you’re struggling with and where it fits in your treatment.
Then, during our first session, I’ll set everything up. Sometimes binaural beats are involved. They’re highly recommended but are optional!
From there, we will begin to activate the emotion associated with your struggle. Remember, David Grand, Ph.D. says “where you look affects how you feel”.
Finally, Brainspotting will start the process of releasing related trauma and beliefs that are stored in the deeper parts of your brain.
Together, we will determine when and how Brainspotting will be most effective for you. You have total control! BSP can be implemented at different stages during the therapeutic process and is highly flexible.
